Cardiomedics, Inc., a pioneer in the world of external counter pulsation (ECP), is leading the way in the diagnosis, treatment and management of cardiovascular disease.
Tracing its roots back to Harvard and MIT, Cardiomedics, Inc. was established in 1986 and became the first company to develop, manufacture and market a portable, sequential external counter pulsation (ECP) system (the CardiAssist). Cardiomedics Inc. has also become the FIRST ECP company to have a clinical study published in a peer reviewed cardiology journal which shows that ECP significantly reduces the annual mortality of congestive heart failure patients (Class II, III, IV) to less than 2%, while reducing re-hospitalization by over 85%.
Likewise, Cardiomedics Inc. was the first company to introduce a 4-8 minute sub-maximal cardiopulmonary exercise test (the CardiAssess CPD) for the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular risk. A non-invasive way of tracking a patient's physiological changes, the CardiAssess can be used to make an initial diagnosis and also track the efficacy of ANY medical treatments a patient is receiving.
By embracing modern technological advances, Cardiomedics Inc. is now able to offer the world's first wireless holter monitor system (the CardiTrack). Breaking away from traditional holter systems, the CardiTrack is completely wireless for unsurpassed patient comfort and also drastically reduces technician set up time.
Cardiomedics Inc. is committed to continuing its pioneering role in developing new tools for cardiovascular medicine and enhancing patient's healthcare and quality of life. Cardiomedics, Inc. ALWAYS LEADING THE WAY.
The CardiAssist currently has two FDA 510(k)s. Number K872034 clears the CardiAssist for the treatment of angina, acute myocardial infraction and cardiogenic shock.
